What is AEO and how is it different from SEO?+

AEO — Answer Engine Optimisation — is about being the answer AI gives when a buyer or vendor asks a question. SEO competes for a place in a list of blue links. AEO competes to be the single response the engine reads back in ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and voice search.

That means the playbook is different too: question research, concise answer blocks, entity and schema markup, and citation-worthy content — not keyword-stuffed pages and backlink chasing.

What's the difference between AEO and GEO?+

GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation) is the umbrella term for influencing what generative AI models say. AEO is the practical, question-first discipline underneath it — engineering your site so it's the source the model quotes.

In real estate, that distinction matters. Vendors and buyers ask direct, high-intent questions ("best agent in Brighton", "what's the vendor advocate in Toorak"). AEO is what puts your name in the answer.

How long until I show up as the answer?+
